Learning Strategist | Training & Talent Development

Personal Statement

For as long as I can remember, I've loved all things "storytelling". I grew up immersed in books and films and enjoyed every alternative universe I could dive into. My favorite experiences are the ones from which I learn the most.

I enjoy the end-to-end process of learning strategy and execution. I’ve held many L&D positions, including designing and facilitating training for various environments such as face-to-face, virtual, and blended learning. I especially enjoy creating eLearnings, as I can tap into my writing and storyboarding skills to incorporate multimedia and storytelling. Helping others learn is one of the reasons I enjoy writing curriculum and facilitating trainings.

I have extensive experience working on highly collaborative and cross-cultural teams. In previous roles, I designed middle and high school curriculum and taught English Language Arts and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at public schools in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Seattle, and Kagoshima, Japan. I’ve facilitated trainings for educators in Japan and the U.S., and I’ve led globally dispersed teams. My varied experience has taught me to be adaptable and open to new ways of working.

I currently live in South Florida with my partner, our two goofy dogs, and one raccoon-like cat. In my free time, I enjoy reading (fiction and media studies), crafting (ceramics and linocuts), and roller skating (quads 4eva). I’m passionate about educational equity and digital citizenry, and I’ve been volunteering at a literacy center for over 15 years, teaching ESOL and U.S. citizenship.
